Lodging

Our main conference venue is The Freepoint Hotel, which includes a discounted rate and complimentary transportation to/from WGBH in the mornings and evenings. Email melanie@jhfestival.org if you are interested in staying at The Freepoint!
We have just confirmed another fabulous discounted hotel for SMASH18, the Studio Allston Hotel will offer $259 (the current rate is $305) rooms with free parking and wifi for a limited time. Please click here to reserve your room, using code SMASH under their offer code. Carbon Offset Program

SMASH18 is offering the addition of a modest Carbon Offset Fee of $25, added to your cart and registration cost if you choose, in an effort to counterbalance carbon emissions from attendees' travel. Donations will be put towards a Gold Standard Offset program.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

The SMASH office must receive written notice of a cancellation/refund of registration fees. A 25% cancellation fee will be assessed for any cancellations made on or before September 1st. There are no refunds after September 1st. Should events beyond SMASH's control, such as strikes, acts of God, or civil disturbance, materially affect SMASH's ability to proceed, SMASH registration fees shall only be refunded without prejudice or penalty.
