Volunteers will receive a 3-day pass to attend the Summit (valued at $650.00) in exchange for 28 hours of volunteering throughout the event. Volunteering consists of 8 hours of setup, two 5-hour shifts throughout the event and 6 hours of strike (clean up). All volunteers are expected to assist for approximately 3 hours during the Awards Gala Celebration on Thursday, September 27.
Below is a rough schedule. Shifts and hours may change.
Sunday, Sept 23 & Monday, Sept 24: Volunteers are expected to be available for setup at WGBH for a complete 8 hour shift on Monday, or to split these hours between Sunday (Sept 18) and Monday (Sept 19). The shifts will be 9:00 am - 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
Tuesday, Sept 25 - Thursday, Sept 27: All volunteers must complete two 5-hour shift assignments during the three days of the Summit, and are welcome to attend the Summit events outside of their scheduled shifts. The shifts will be 8:30 am - 1:30 pm, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 4:00 pm - 9:00pm. We will work with each volunteer individually to create an ideal schedule.
Thursday Sept. 27 & Friday, Sept 28: Volunteers are expected to fulfill one 4-hour strike shift either Thursday, Sept 22 (2:00 pm - 6:00 pm) or Friday, Sept 23 (9:00 am - 1:00 pm).
We do not cover cost of travel, food or accommodation for volunteers. Some meals may be provided during the conference.
